The dates for the Diploma Local Government (Health and Environment) course have been set for 2010 … This course has been specifically designed for Local Government employees working within environmental health, compliance management, local laws, land protection, animal management and other allied fields of work. Commencing March 2010, a total of 3 courses has been set for 2010 requiring a total 6 attendance days in Brisbane

March 2010 – Group 6

  • Days 1-2:  M/T 22 & 23 March 2010
  • Days 3-4:  T/W 27 & 28 April 2010
  • Days 5-6:  M/T 7 & 8 June 2010

July 2010 – Group 7

  • Days 1-2:  M/T 26 & 27 July 2010
  • Days 3-4:  M/T 13 & 14 September 2010
  • Days 5-6:  M/T 25 & 26 October 2010

October 2010 – Group 8

  • Days 1-2:  M/T 4 & 5 October 2010
  • Days 3-4:  M/T 15 & 16 November 2010
  • Days 5-6:  M/T 13 & 14 December 2010

Who Should Attend?

Groups may include local government technical officers working within environmental health, as well as compliance management, local laws, land protection, animal management and other allied fields of work.

Saudi Arabia is set to make ‘food handler cards’ mandatory for food service workers employed in various food-related businesses in the country.

Solaiman H. Al-Buthi, General Manager of the Environmental Health Department in Riyadh Municipality, said food service workers in the Kingdom will soon be required to obtain a food handler card from the institutes proposed by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs.

The EPA has provided information on the new EPPs for air, noise and water.

The Governor-in-Council approved the new Environmental Protection (Air) Policy 2008 and the Environmental Protection (Noise) Policy 2008 on 11 December 2008. The legislation was notified in the gazette on 12 December 2008.

I have been interested for some time seeing how large organisations are handling the Web 2.0 technologies. Can blogging and workplace networking allowing  organisations to connect staff to each other to solve problems … and make a difference?  Well, I believe that they can.

So I thought I would start by asking: What is the military doing about Web 2.0?  I then found some interesting information and links and thought they might be useful to share. It has also got me thinking … if the army can tackle the question and use of social networking technologies, why can’t your organisation?
